YomaBarr Seems like this album wants to be seriously overlooked. Don't let it. Thick death metal to the bone and core with unearthly atmosphere, it's not your grandma's death metal.

What an album! I'm sold. Headlong and headfirst. Love the feeling!

The grains of sand i count and measure the sea I understand the speech of the ancients and i can hear the voiceless I washed away the emptiest of shells shapeless i've become One with the vastness of the cosmos Unmatched and unopposed i transcend all limitations Manifest into non-physical forms towards illumination The aenaon principle keys i hold, continual quintessence I am all that is and all that is not Now your statues stand before me and pouring sweat Before me they crumble and shiver with dread Black blood drips from above and the serpent earthborn In craftiness comes behind thee For not the strength of bulls nor lions shall hold my endlessness I was here before and after i will remain Beyond flesh beyond words the cosmic forces drive my will

Through the ghoul-guarded gateways of slumber Past the wan-mooned abysses of night I have lived o'er my lives without number I have sounded all things with my sight (And I struggle and shriek ere the daybreak, being driven to madness with fright) I have whirled with the earth at the dawning When the sky was a vaporous flame I have seen the dark universe yawning Where the black planets roll without aim (Where they roll in their horror unheeded, without knowledge or lustre or name) I had drifted o'er seas without ending Under sinister grey-clouded skies That the many-forked lightning is rending That resound with hysterical cries (With the moans of invisible daemons, that out of the green waters rise) I have plunged like a deer through the arches Of the hoary primordial grove Where the oaks feel the presence that marches And stalks on where no spirit dares rove (And I flee from a thing that surrounds me, and leers through dead branches above) I have stumbled by cave-ridden mountains That rise barren and bleak from the plain I have drunk of the fog-foetid fountains That ooze down to the marsh and the main (And in hot cursed tarns I have seen things, I care not to gaze on again) I have scanned the vast ivy-clad palace I have trod its untenanted hall Where the moon rising up from the valleys Shows the tapestried things on the wall (Strange figures discordantly woven, that I cannot endure to recall) I have peered from the casements in wonder At the mouldering meadows around At the many-roofed village laid under The curse of a grave-girdled ground (And from rows of white urn-carven marble I listen intently for sound) I have haunted the tombs of the ages I have flown on the pinions of fear Where the smoke-belching Erebus rages Where the jokulls loom snow-clad and drear (And in realms where the sun of the desert consumes what it never can cheer) I was old when the pharaohs first mounted The jewel-decked throne by the Nile I was old in those epochs uncounted When I, and I only, was vile (And Man, yet untainted and happy, dwelt in bliss on the far Arctic isle) Oh, great was the sin of my spirit And great is the reach of its doom Not the pity of Heaven can cheer it Nor can respite be found in the tomb (Down the infinite aeons come beating the wings of unmerciful gloom) Through the ghoul-guarded gateways of slumber Past the wan-mooned abysses of night I have lived o'er my lives without number I have sounded all things with my sight (And I struggle and shriek ere the daybreak, being driven to madness with fright) (Original Poem "Nemesis" by H.P. Lovecraft.)

Chaos Magnvm 07:56
Leave me the secret of my terrible destiny Leave me the dread that surrounds me Curse me even though canst not comprehend To wander at will and vex the harmony of the stars I am the messenger of the suns I am the flame of sacrifice Liberator of souls from their mortal chains I am the proscribed, the eternal wanderer Who has infinity for domain Accursed and ruined angel Wandering comet Exhaling the fires (that consumes you) To face the burning spears Of the solar guardians Incendiary of planets Terrifier of stars The risen redeemer Bringer of eternal stars Imperator of beguilement Wielder of the flame Harbinger of annihilation Usurper of celestial equilibrium There is a force Which dieth not And through the cosmic resonance Will perpetually transform In the vast meadows of the sky Like a chariot of warriors The stars pale at it’s approach Headlong vagabond Incendiary of planets Terrifier of stars The risen redeemer Bringer of eternal stars Imperator of beguilement Wielder of the flame Harbinger of annihilation Usurper of celestial equilibrium

Escape into realms beyond the light's reach As the pure spirit of the soul is revealed Atop of a spiral billow i stand and through the cosmic sea of creation i wonder With hungry mind and open eyes Overwhelmed by both wander and understanding An observer of divine forces at work I can clearly now see where eternities are born Witness i bear to the everlasting cycle of death and creation Yet i claim no gift, only guidance i seek I have longed to be at one with thee Which i can only gaze at with awe Clearly i can see the beckoning hand of the cosmos I get a glimpse of the monstrous pillars of creation I perceive the works of gifted hands That grace this strange and wondrous place

I searched out and found the keys for the symbols of Zoroaster I pierced through the crypts of Mane and decipher the secretes of Hermes who forgot to enshroud the veils edge that cloaks forever the great arcane My knowledge as great now as the colossal sphinx's sinking forever into the sands of time, observing the monuments of men build with the wrath of gods I studied upon the mysteries of Brahma, the lost keys of Solomon revealed to me, into ancient knowledge i delved and learn what even Mephistopheles could not tell Faust Behind the veil of all ancient doctrines The darkness and strange ordeals (of all initiations) Under the seal of all secret writings In the ruins of Thebes or Nineveh On the crumbling stones of old temples and on the black visage of the Egyptian sphinx In the marvelous paintings of the Vedas and the cryptic emblems of the old books of alchemy In the ceremonies practiced by secret societies A doctrine which is everywhere the same and everywhere carefully concealed

Umbra Mortis 10:27
Knowest thou that old queen of the world As old as time she is, her skeleton concealed Concealed in the wreckage of women's beauty Abstracted from their youth and love Her skull adorned with lifeless tresses Spoliator of crowned heads she is Her livid and frozen body in faded garments and tattered winding sheets is clothed Her bony hands covered with rings diadems and chains hold Scepters and crossbones, jewels and ashes Embellished with the plunder of queens Murder rides with her on a russet charger Shaking his mane of smoke Fire flies before her ominous presence with wings of scarlet and black A pale horse she spurs and charges All breathless through multitudes Murder rides with her on a russet charger Shaking his mane of smoke Fire flies with wings of scarlet and black Famine and plague will follow The terrors of death are daughters of ignorance

about

UNHOLY PROPHECIES is proud to present MIASMAL SABBATH's striking debut album, Ominous Radiance.

MIASMAL SABBATH are a power-trio hailing from northern Greece. Although the members have a wide variety of backgrounds playing in other bands under the wider umbrella of metal, hardcore, and punk, MIASMAL SABBATH was formed with a singular purpose: to create swampy, D-beating death metal. A self-titled EP was released in 2016 on local underground label Sewer Grinder, followed the next year the two-song Ascension of the Foulest EP, also courtesy of that label. Between the two records, MIASMAL SABBATH kept their death metal pure while also nodding prominently to punk.

Alas, the best had yet to come for MIASMAL SABBATH, and it at last arrives with the band's debut album, Ominous Radiance. Right from the start, from the simmering, slow-burn opener of "Invocation of Death Essence," Ominous Radiance boldly proclaims itself as a staggeringly accomplished, fully-formed work. While the specter of death loomed large over its short-length predecessors, MIASMAL SABBATH here have a firmer, far-deeper grounding in deeper thematics of the occult, as suggested by such song titles as "The Oracular Voice," "Ghostly Aura Bathed in Stellar Luminence," and especially "Wisdom of the Occult" among others. As such, their ceaselessly surging style of D-beat/death transcends the hokiness of so much "fun" otherwise laboring lazily under that banner, and the trio ably exude a suitably ghostly aspect to their powerful push and pull (and push some more). In other words, Ominous Radiance charges hard – VERY HARD – with all the crush 'n' clang you'd expect from a band equally influenced by Indecent and Obscene as Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing, as much Mental Funeral as Allday Hell, but is given haunting atmosphere and deceptively epic songwriting which squarely put this into a rarefied realm altogether. And with the whole eight-song album clocking in at nearly an hour, Ominous Radiance carries a totality that's indeed radiant to behold, and brilliantly so.

A new dawn fades, and a darker sun is on the horizon...behold MIASMAL SABBATH's Ominous Radiance!
